What do clothes dryers and car tires have in common?

A new report by the San Francisco Estuary Institute provides an in-depth assessment of the pathways and sources to stormwater of the most common types of microplastics in urban runoff and an assessment of the importance of known sources of microplastics. The report also identifies potentially significant sources that merit further investigation, and includes possible management options from prevention to mediation.
