Construction Site Controls

Construction Site Drain

The Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit (MRP) Provision C.6 requires municipalities implement a construction site inspection and control program at all construction sites, with follow up and enforcement consistent with each municipality’s respective Enforcement Response Plan (ERP), to prevent construction site discharges of pollutants into the storm drains. Inspections confirm implementation of appropriate and effective erosion control and other construction BMPs

Additionally, construction activities that result in one acre or more of disturbed soil, or are part of a larger common plan of development are required to obtain coverage under the Construction General Permit (CGP). The CGP requires the development of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) by a certified Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD).
